Checklist: How to find out if you’re electrosensitive (EHS)

Checklist: How to find out if you’re electrosensitive (EHS)

Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS), also known as “electrosensitivity,” is the experience of feeling unwell around WiFi, cell towers, 5G, Bluetooth, or other wireless devices. While not yet officially recognized as a medical diagnosis everywhere, many people report symptoms that appear or worsen in high-EMF environments.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you might be electrosensitive, use this self-checklist to explore your symptoms and triggers.

Step 1: Check for Common Physical Symptoms

Do you often experience the following, especially when near electronic devices?

  • Headaches or migraines that appear around WiFi routers or cell phones

  • Pressure in the skull or “buzzing” sensations

  • Tingling, burning, or warmth on the skin (especially near the head or hands)

  • Dizziness or vertigo when surrounded by electronics

  • Heart palpitations or unusual chest tightness

  • Fatigue that improves when you leave urban or high-tech areas

Step 2: Notice Cognitive & Emotional Symptoms

EHS can also affect focus and mood. Check if you often feel:

  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

  • Short-term memory issues

  • Anxiety or irritability that seems worse near electronics

  • Trouble relaxing or “mental restlessness”

  • Sudden sleep disturbances or waking up multiple times at night

Step 3: Track Your Environment

Many electrosensitive people notice their symptoms change depending on location. Ask yourself:

  • Do my symptoms worsen when I’m near WiFi routers, smart meters, or 5G towers?

  • Do I feel better in nature, rural areas, or “low-tech” environments?

  • Do symptoms ease when I switch devices off (WiFi, Bluetooth, phone)?

  • Does traveling by train, bus, or airplane make my symptoms worse?

Step 4: Perform Simple Self-Tests

  • Router Test: Turn off your WiFi at night. Do you sleep better?

  • Phone Test: Keep your phone on airplane mode for a day. Do symptoms lessen?

  • Location Test: Spend time in a rural area with little cell coverage. Does your energy improve?

(If you notice a consistent pattern, it could be a sign of electrosensitivity.)

Step 5: Support Yourself with Signalproof Clothing

If many of these boxes feel familiar, you may benefit from reducing EMF exposure in your daily life. One of the most practical steps is adding signalproof clothing and garments to your routine.

At SHIELD Signalproof Apparel, we design clothing with advanced shielding fabrics that:

  • Reflect and absorb wireless frequencies (10 MHz – 40 GHz)

  • Protect sensitive areas like your head, chest, and torso

  • Provide discreet, everyday wearability

  • Help electrosensitive individuals feel safer, calmer, and more energized
